In October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa left a trail of devastation across Western Jamaica, uniting the nation in a call to action. In response, Phase 3 Productions stood proudly with the Ministry of Culture & Entertainment and the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) as the production partner for the historic “I Love Jamaica” Telethon & Virtual Concert. This monumental broadcast was conceived to harness the power of music and community, rallying both local and global audiences to raise critical funds for recovery and rebuilding.

The challenge was as immense as the cause: to create a seamless, multi-platform broadcast that would run for over eight hours. The production needed to dynamically weave together live musical performances, a live telethon phone bank, interviews with key figures, and live Zoom feeds from international celebrities. Phase 3 answered the call by donating over $17 million in equipment, personnel, and expertise, providing a complete end-to-end production solution to ensure the message of hope and resilience reached the world without interruption.

Engineering a Broadcast for a Nation

To deliver a flawless viewer experience, we deployed a robust technical infrastructure on a scale rarely seen in the region. Our solution included:

Immersive Visuals:

The main concert stage was anchored by a stunning backdrop of five sub-hung LED screens, comprising 236 Absen PL 4.8mm panels, ensuring a captivating experience for both the live and virtual audience.

Comprehensive Coverage:

A fleet of 12 broadcast cameras was strategically positioned across three distinct zones: five on the concert stage, three on the television anchor set, two on the active phone bank, and two for supplemental coverage.

Broadcast-Quality Lighting:

Under the direction of Ricardo Gopaulsingh and Nadia Roxburgh, a complex lighting rig of over 130 fixtures created both the high-energy dynamism of the concert and the polished, flattering look required for the television broadcast.

Seamless Workflow:

All camera feeds, live Zoom inputs, and pre-recorded packages were routed through a central broadcast hub. Our director and technical team seamlessly switched between all elements, encoding and live streaming the final program to multiple television and digital platforms simultaneously.

This technical marvel was brought to life through the exceptional coordination of our crew, including Production Designer Martin Lewis, Producer Brian St. Juste and Assistant Producer Alethea Forgie, coordinators Daniell Harris and Sophia Palmer, LED Programmer Roshane Bartley, and Lighting Director Ricardo Gopaulsingh. Their leadership, combined with the dedication of every technician and operator, ensured a perfectly synchronized broadcast from load-in to load-out.

A Resounding Success for Jamaica

The “I Love Jamaica” Telethon was a triumph of national spirit, exceeding its scheduled runtime due to an overwhelming outpouring of support. The event successfully raised an incredible $65 million for hurricane relief, a testament to the power of a well-executed production to drive real-world impact.

Phase 3 Productions is deeply honored to have contributed our technical expertise and resources to this vital cause. This project underscores our commitment not only to technical excellence but to being a true partner in our community’s most critical moments.
