Reggae icon Beres Hammond thrilled Westbury, New York fans with his signature performance. Complimenting his show were appearances from Monty Alexander, Dean Fraser, Cat Coore and Brooke Alford – and a who’s who of foundation reggae music. Produced by Jammins Productions, the evening was a reunion of friends, a collaboration of the who’s who of Jamaican musicians; a camaraderie of friendship that fans rarely have an opportunity to see. Phase 3 was commissioned by VP Records working alongside Lukkee Chong to document the “historic evening” live from the Westbury Theatre, New York. This project posed a number of unique challenges as the venue was in the round and included a rotating stage. Given the high value of the content from the initial discussion with VP records it was decided that we must capture in 4K in order to ensure the futureproofing of the content to be aired on one of the major streaming platforms (ie Netflix, Amazon, Apple). 

We decided to record the live show in 4K within a cinematic style using a total of 12 cameras doing a live cut in addition to ISO records for post production. For the camera package we worked along with TV Pro Gear who provided (6) Panasonic Varicam LT packages paired with Cine Lenses in addition to 4K box cameras, Go Pros as well as wireless DSLR cameras on stabilizers to capture behind the scenes content. A multitrack audio recording was also done.
