Dr. Marcia Forbes

Dr. Marcia Forbes, co-founder and co-owner of Phase Three Productions Limited, is a balanced blend of business woman and academician. She steered Phase Three as its General Manager/Producer/Director for over a decade before heading to Television Jamaica (TVJ).

Forbes successfully transitioned that national free-to-air TV station from what was the Government-owned JBC into TVJ and set it on a path of profitability before leaving to pursue a Ph.D. in communication. Dr. Forbes now serves as the Executive Chairman of Phase Three Productions.

Marcia Forbes is committed to giving back to her country and the wider Caribbean region and has served on several boards and been involved in the work of many organizations, including but not limited to:

  • IDB ConSoc – Civil Society Consulting Group of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Jamaica, 2014 to present;
  • Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) – Chairperson, Parenting Committee, 2015 to present;
  • United Way of Jamaica –Board Director with fifteen years unbroken and continued service to this voluntary organization;
  • 51% Coalition: Women in Partnership for Development & Empowerment, 2012 to present;
  • Women’s Leadership Initiative – Founding member;
  • Caribbean Broadcasting Union (Barbados) – Former Vice President Television;
  • Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (UK) – Former Member, Executive Committee;
  • Spectrum Management Authority – Former Chairman;
  • UNESCO – Former Chairman, Communications Committee & Jamaica’s representative to IPDC.
