Set against the beauty of the majestic Trident Castle, Portland, Jamaica, Camp Porti is a three-day Easter weekend experience designed to celebrate luxury, adventure, and wellbeing. Held from April 3–6, 2026, the event brought together a curated audience seeking elevated, immersive experiences in one of the island’s most picturesque parishes.
Within this setting, Phase 3 Productions was engaged to execute a large-scale projection mapping installation at one of the event’s most iconic locations.
The Challenge
The objective was to deliver a bold visual moment during two key experiences, Porti Village and Porti Sunset, hosted at the Trident Castle.
The brief called for:
- A larger-than-life projection of a Heineken bottle
- Seamless integration with the architectural features of the castle
- A visually striking installation capable of elevating the premium atmosphere of the event
The challenge was to transform a historic structure into a dynamic visual canvas without compromising clarity, scale, or impact.
The Solution
Phase 3 approached the project with a focus on precision, scale, and consistency.
To achieve the desired output, the team deployed:
- Two (2) 20,000 lumen Barco projectors
- Custom alignment and mapping techniques tailored to the castle’s surface
- High-resolution motion graphics designed specifically for large-format projection
The visual content, developed by Phase 3’s graphic designer, Claude Burrell, was optimized to ensure the projection maintained sharpness, brightness, and dimensionality across the structure’s unique façade.
Execution
Delivering this experience required seamless coordination and technical control.
The project was coordinated by Kimone Minott, with on-site multimedia execution led by Roshane Bartley.
Operating in an outdoor environment introduced variables such as ambient light, projection distance, and surface irregularities. Through careful calibration and real-time adjustments, the team ensured consistent visual performance across both nights.
From setup to live operation, the installation was executed with the precision required to support a premium, high-visibility event environment.
The Result
The final result was a striking visual transformation that elevated the Camp Porti experience.
The façade of Trident Castle became more than a backdrop, it became a focal point. The projection mapping installation delivered a bold, immersive brand moment that captured attention and enhanced the atmosphere of both featured events.
By combining technical expertise with creative execution, Phase 3 successfully transformed a historic landmark into a modern visual experience, reinforcing the power of projection mapping as a tool for high-impact event storytelling.
At Camp Porti, Phase 3 once again demonstrated its ability to deliver high-impact visual solutions in complex environments.
Through careful planning, technical precision, and collaborative execution, the team delivered an installation that not only met the brief, but elevated the overall event experience.
