The breadth and depth of Richard Delano Forbes Jnr’s knowledge of production, and the television industry in general, belie his relatively youthful years. He grew up in the family business, Phase Three Productions, for which he is now co-owner and a key driver. Forbes holds a BFA from the prestigious NYU Film School and an MBA, with Honors from Florida International University. He understands television and the business of television.

Forbes has worked across the Caribbean, producing live multi-camera sports and entertainment events among other TV-related projects. His multi-skilled training, deep experience and the high esteem in which he is held by colleagues have allowed him to serve in several different capacities.

These include:

  1. Television Director – Bob Marley’s 70th Anniversary Concert 2015 Live Streamed worldwide, Caribbean Arthur Guinness Day with Live Broadcast simulcast around the world 2010 – 2014, STING 2013 Live via Pay-per-View, World Cup Qualifier, Trinidad 2006, Live Boxing Wray & Nephew Contender aired on Jamaican TV 2012 – 2015, Boys’ & Girls’ Champs Jamaica’s premier track and field event hosted over four days and carried live on national TV.
  2. Project Manager – Red Stripe Football Mondays weekly football aired live on national TV with virtual branding and social media interface by way of live postings of interactions via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook 2012 – 2015, Jamaica 50 Host Broadcast 2012, World Cup Qualifiers (Jamaica) and CONCACAF Men’s U 20 in 2015 and Women’s U 17 in 2013, with signal sent live via satellite to several countries including the USA, Canada, throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
  3. Consultant & Technical Manager – Opening Ceremony, World Cup Cricket Jamaica 2007.
  4. Consultant to TV Stations/Cable Systems in Jamaica – CVM TV for World Cup 2014 with hands-on involvement in the technical build-out, Sportmax 2004 to guide the set-up of this 24 hour sports cable channel, Business Access TV on stream via cable TV in 2015.

In recognition of his outstanding capacity and forward thinking entrepreneurial skills, in 2002 Delano received the Prime Minister’s Youth Award. In 2013 he was identified as one of 50 Jamaicans under the age of 50 years seen as instrumental in taking the country forward. For three consecutive years (2002 – 2004) he won the Caribbean Broadcasting Union’s Best Music Video of the Year Award for his Directorial skills. Of note is that he directed two music videos for Tessanne Chin, a Jamaican who won NBC’s The Voice in 2013.
