Phase 3 Thus Far

As Jamaica’s 50th anniversary approaches, the time has come for us to evaluate not only where we are as a country, but as a people—and, for us here at Phase 3 Productions—a company. It’s a great period of reflection for all, and it has caused us to ask ourselves some rather important questions: what has Phase 3 productions achieved? How have we grown and expanded over time? How have we helped to build an industry?

We have always striven to become the premiere facility in the Caribbean for television and film production and emerging multimedia technologies. This has been our mission statement since we started our business over 25 years ago. It is a goal that, based on feedback, it seems we have achieved. As we take our company into the future we commit to continue to serve our clients to the very best of our ability.

That is why, first and foremost, we have always sought to attract and train the best talent this country has to offer. Without reliable, talented and hardworking staff, we would have never been able to accomplish all we have done throughout the years. This is something we feel compelled to state before we delve into the details of our achievements.

Our goal to be the premiere regional production facility has also manifested itself in a need to always provide our customers with cutting-edge technology. We are constantly acquiring new tools that will help us to better serve our clients—whether our corporate clients or our industry colleagues. It is for this reason that we acquired the MD8 multi-camera, multi-format truck—the first of its kind in Jamaica. It has allowed us to consistently produce quality work for Boys and Girls Champs, Reggae Sumfest, The Wray and Nephew Contender, The Red Stripe Premiere League’s Football Mondays, and several other television programmes and events, thereby elevating the standard of Jamaican productions while supporting the creation of indigenous content.

Over the years, we have worked with some of the country’s greatest artistes and legends, enhancing their careers by allowing them to reach a larger audience. We have filmed music videos for Jimmy Cliff, as well as Shaggy, Elephant Man, Tessanne Chin, and Busy Signal. We have supported one of our country’s largest industries through multiple projects done for the Jamaica Tourist Board, including live broadcasts to ESPN’s PressPass.

We have helped several local businesses and local franchise-holders to better market their brands through producing sleek, modern television ads. We have assisted in educating our people on financial matters through PSAs produced for the Financial Services Commission, and we have encouraged our young people to take more control over their lives and sexual habits through the production of the National Family Planning Board’s Teen Seen.

We have set the precedent for others in the industry to follow, and have shaped the careers of some of Jamaica’s most talented directors, editors, audio engineers, videographers and production coordinators. We are known throughout the industry for our competence, skill, innovation and expertise. We even managed to continue the business after a massive fire which destroyed our previous building, tapes and equipment.

From a video rental service with one TK750 camera, to a full-service multimedia solutions company, we are proud to say that we have achieved our mission several times over. We couldn’t have done this without the support of our staff, our friends, our fans, and especially our clients, and we’re committed to achieving even more for our staff, clients and our country as we move forwards into the future.
